About Hedieh

My name is Hedieh Montazer. I have been working as a midwife since 1993. I graduated from Tehran University in Iran with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Midwifery, and interned in Farah Hospital in 1992-1993. I practiced in Iran for nine years in various settings from pregnancy clinics to maternity wards in hospital. I was a member of the Midwifery Association of Iran until my immigration to Canada in 2002. I completed my training at Ryerson University and interned in the Durham region of Toronto. I then worked for two years in Ontario before moving to Vancouver in 2010. I am a professionally trained and registered midwife with the British Columbia College of Midwives. I speak English and Farsi fluently.

I became interested to be a health care provider since my childhood and I chose to be a midwife after I finished high school. I have two grown up children, a girl and a boy plus one grand-daughter. When I am not working, I walk, jog or cook.

It is not unusual for me to spend an hour with clients listening to their concerns, talking about their care or helping them breastfeed their newborns. It is just enjoyable getting to know each other and everyone has a story to tell. For me, you are a person blessed with pregnancy. I will be accompanying your journey into motherhood, and I’ll be forever grateful.
